Thank you, Brad. I appreciate your apology and also your prayers. A public correction by Camille would also be appreciated. For example, taking decades-old screenshots and quotes out of context to build the case that I have been "brawling" with Leonard Cohen for years -- I began writing about Leonard Cohen in self-defense, after I left Montreal to teach in BC in 2000. A very damaging story was circulating, that I had never known Cohen but just "imagined" that I did. After putting up with it for years, in the summer of 2001 I decided to write down all my experiences with Cohen going back to 1970 -- the process took two months and 300 pages of mostly straight narration. I posted the chapters in a blog which I didnt advertise, at a site which was hard to find. Eventually it got noticed and made the rounds. I used a hit counter so I know for sure only 65 readers ever made it to the final chapter which was the one with the paragraph about Cohen's daughter reporting to his friends that he had molested her. In 2003 Cohen's lawyer asked me to delete that paragraph and I did. The rest of the blog stayed up for a few more months, and some Cohen fans were offended by it. They had formed a hagiographic image of their idol and they hated to see it undermined by some woman they never met. Much easier to label her "crazy" and "vindictive." My blogging in 2001 didnt stop the rumors of course, but at least it provided a public corrective to the false narrative of the "scorned woman." Cohen was a relentless gossip but he never actually "scorned" me. In that respect I was almost lucky. Our relationship went back to my childhood and he knew it but I had forgotten. That's probably why his daughter chose to confide in me before she had words to describe what was happening to her. This was back before women began demanding the right to accuse their abusers in public. I can assure you, a lot has changed. Virginia Giuffre's book is coming out today -- I hope you're planning to read it. Thirty years ago there was literally nowhere to turn if you suspected a child was being abused. You would be crucified for mentioning it. The amazing thing is that people will repeat toxic gossip without checking back to the source. Or they will bury it. Or blame the victim. Nobody has time to investigate every salacious story going around nor do they have access to the people involved or the facts which are often too complicated and exhausting to review. So instead they take a side, based on emotions and prejudices. Let us pray for fairness and objectivity before more lives are damaged or ruined by slander. Ann Show quoted text

    What is mind boggling is that some people listen to Ellen Atkin who repeats gossip and claims it is "sourced" yet never provides facts or backup.

    On X today she wrote:

    "There must be at least 10 verified sources that said Ann stalked LC. Each one she dismisses with various character attacks. It's mind boggling."

    No, Ellen, there are no verified sources who saw me stalking Leonard because I never stalked him. I knew him for 20 years and met up with him, in the UK, Greece,
    California, NY, and the Montreal neighbourhood where we both lived from the early 1970s to late 90s.

    Look up the definition of "stalking" -- is this thr hill you're prepared to die on? You're already buried and its time to buy a plot.

    For "verified sources" let's start with Don Lowe. Lowe is on record stating that "Ann stalked Leonard"- no proof. Others simply repeated a rumor they heard from Don Lowe, raconteur.

    Lowe (now in his 80s) was a notorious Hydra wife beater who advocated wife beating in his early writings. His first wife abandoned him. Later the Australian mother of two of his children fled Hydra with her babies in 1983 after enduring his violence for 3 years. I knew her quite well and advised her not to marry him since she had grown up with an abusive dad. So did Helen Marden - wife of late painter Brice Marden

    Why not ask them about Donald's character?

    Lets be clear. There are not "10 verified sources" and if Ellen MkultraGirl thinks there are, lets see the list.

    Dianne Lawrence? She stated she knew me in the "late 80s" in LA. It was 1996, and I kept a diary. She told me at the time she thought Leonard was a pedophile. Now she's a "verified source" that I stalked him? In 1996 she was $40K in debt to her cocaine habit, acquired while painting wall murals at the House of Blues in the 1980s. She was rescuing dogs and fighting with the Roshi's wife. She was angry and unstable which was why she spent most of her time alone in her room watching Seinfeld and shrieking with laughter. She never witnessed me "stalking Leonard." Sheq knew he had molested his daughter. She once asked me what I planned to do about it -- i said "Nothing." Which is what I did, while writing a novel called Dead White Males over the 6 months I lived in LA.

    What a circus. Camille desperately writes on X (where she cringes behind her Block button):

    "Even the Moderator of the rather highbrow hipster Rigorous Intuition, "Wombaticus Rex", finds fault with Ann's research. She is even banned later briefly from the forum for sharing an extremely lewd pedophilic passage written by Leonard Cohen."

    You cant make this stuff up.

Four years ago I was working as a caregiver to the elderly, for a private Montreal company that catered to well-off clients, including two senators, the wife of the man who designed the Montreal metro, the mother of a McGill psychiatrist specializing in adolescent schizophrenia, and other fascinating people. One of my last clients was a beautiful, elegant 70-year-old woman whose husband had recently passed away. She now lived alone in their two storey duplex in a middle class neighborhood.
